When Sally Henzell built Jakes, she pictured longtime family friend Dougie behind the bar. She then tracked him down towns away and said she had just the place for him. That was over 20 years ago and Dougie’s signature rum punch has become the stuff of legend. He’s now retired, but Dougie definitely still drops by from time to time, and you should definitely say hello.
The bar is smack in the center of the property, overlooking the pool and the beach, and serves as the natural gathering spot for guests all day long. Through the day’s warm sunshine to the night’s cool moonlight, come hang out, kick back, talk nuff talk and sip up.
